Official Opening of the extension at Colaiste Treasa, which was funded by the Cork Education and Training Board, by Mr. Michael Creed TD, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, at Coláiste Teresa, Kanturk, Co. Cork.

Friday last saw the opening of a fantastic new science and home Economics wing in Coláiste Treasa. The extension which has been in the pipeline for the past number of years, is a huge addition to the school. The state of the art facilities got a huge seal of approval from Minister Michael Creed and Cork ETB Chief Executive, Mr. Ted Owens.
The extension consists of two fully equiped science rooms, and a home Economics Room.
Construction began in January 2017 and the project was completed by September 1st. Designed by John Delaney and Ronan Clarke of Clarke & Co, Nass, Co. Kildare and built by Joe Buckley Construction Ltd. the completed build cost in the region of one million Euros. Money well spent for all concerned with Coláiste Treasa.
Conor Morrissey winner of the Young Engineer, Ordinary Level award at the recent Engineering Technology Teachers Association awards at Pobalscoil Na Trionóide, Youghal. Well done also to Jim McAulliffe who finished runner up in the same competition.

Friday the 15th of September proved a memorable day for Coláiste Treasa, with the arrival of the President of UCC, Professor Patrick O’ Shea, for his for visit to our school.
Professor O’ Shea, who took up his position as president of the prestigious college in February of this year, addressed our senior cycle students on a range of topics ranging from the value of education to the changes he has seen take place in UCC over the years. following this he held a Q &A Session with the students.

Cork U17 Hurling Captain Conor O Callaghan displaying the silverware claimed by the young rebels in their recent munster final victory over Waterford. Conor is also a member of the Cork Minor team and played centre back in their recent first round victory over Waterford.
