Well done to Ciara O’ Flynn and Nancy Lehane, who both received Garda Youth Awards.
Ciara achieved her award for her involvement in the Banteer Badminton club. Not only is Ciara an excellent badminton player she also contributes to the club in terms of coaching younger players and organising events .
Nancy, who lives in Meelin, received her award in recognition of her contribution to her local community . For the past number of years Nancy has taught both children and adults traditional music. This culminates each year when a group of musicians “hunt the wren” and raise money for the Cancer society, the Chernobyl Project and Pieta House, to name but a few.
Ciara and Nancy are pictured here, at the awards ceremony, with Tom O’ Connell who coaches both badminton and hurling  in Coláiste Treasa.
