Coláiste Treasa is a co-educational, multicultural second level school established in 1938. It is under the auspices of Cork Education and Training Board (Cork ETB). Aa a multi denominational school, we welcome students of all faiths and none. The school enrolment has increased steadily over the last decade and is 626 at present. We provide a diverse and broad range of subjects for our students. We aim to support all students in their academic efforts with a view to ensuring that each student reaches his/her potential, in a safe and caring environment.
Coláiste Treasa is a modern school with all the facilities to give students a well rounded education in preparation for third level or the world of work. We pride ourselves in providing quality teaching and learning to all students in an inclusive school environment. We set high expectations for our students and they thrive in a warm welcoming atmosphere based on mutual respect.
We endeavour to create an environment where each child is valued and nurtured in a caring environment to develop academically and socially into full and valuable members of their community. Care is a central component of school life at Coláiste Treasa, with each student being accepted for what he/she is, regardless of ability or social background. This promotes confidence through which each pupil will achieve his/her potential through growth and maturity.
We firmly believe in offering a progressive academic curriculum as well as an intensive range of extra curricular activities which promote the holistic development of our students.
Our pastoral care and guidance service is comprehensive and one of its aims is to reduce the stress pupils experience during the difficult period of transition from primary to secondary school.
Discipline in Coláiste Treasa is strict with a strong emphasis on respect for self and others. Positive behavioural patterns and attitudes are encouraged. All members of the Coláiste Treasa community are expected to treat one another with respect, good manners and courtesy at all times. The school is justly proud of the excellent behaviour of its pupils.
I am confident that we, in Coláiste Treasa, provide an education second to none and look forward to welcoming our new first year students to our dynamic and progressive school.
None of this would be possible without the shared vision of the teachers who teach in the school now, and those who have gone before us. There is a commitment here to our students that is of the highest level.
We work in partnership with the the key stakeholders in the school. These include the Cork ETB, the Board of Management, the Parents Association and the Student Council. Each of these bodies individually and collectively work to further advance the quality of education Coláiste Treasa provides.
