Student Council

Student voice is very important to us and as a result we have a very active student council.

Student councils give students a voice and the opportunity to work in partnership with management and staff to improve their schools. Young people are afforded freedom of expression and appropriate participation in policymaking under both the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Ireland’s National Children’s Strategy. Student councils are provided for in the Education Act, 1998 as a means of students being involved in the affairs of the school. We would like our student council to have this voice and be a highly effective catalyst for any necessary change in our school.
